Cookie
policy.

Four categories, each one off until you allow it. This page names every cookie we set, how long it lasts, which consent signals we send, and how to change your mind in one click.

Last updated 15 February 2026Document version 2.0Consent version 29 clauses
In short

Only strictly necessary storage loads before you decide. Functional, analytics, and marketing categories stay denied until you switch them on, and marketing is not in use at all. Your choice is stored on your device under cognimit.consent with a version and timestamp, and applied through Google Consent Mode v2. You can reopen the preferences panel at any time from the footer or from this page.

01

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let a site recognise your browser between page loads, keep a session secure, remember a preference you set, or count a visit. This policy also covers similar technologies: browser localStorage, pixels, and measurement scripts loaded by our analytics provider.

Cookies set by cognimit.com are first-party. Where a third party such as Google Analytics sets or reads storage on our behalf, that party is named in this policy.

03

The four consent categories

Each category is independent. Switching one on does not switch on another, and the panel records exactly the combination you choose.

AStrictly necessary

Always on

Required for the site to function — routing, security, load balancing, and remembering this consent choice.

Used for
Session integrity, CSRF protection, consent record.
Retention
Session to 12 months

BFunctional

Off until you allow it

Remembers preferences you set, such as colour theme and language, so the site behaves consistently on return.

Used for
Theme selection, language preference, dismissed notices.
Retention
Up to 12 months

CAnalytics

Off until you allow it

Aggregated usage measurement via Google Analytics 4 — which pages are read, where sessions end. IP addresses are anonymised.

Used for
Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*), Vercel Analytics.
Retention
Up to 14 months

DMarketing

Off, and not currently used

Attribution and advertising measurement. Cognimit does not currently run advertising cookies; this stays denied unless that changes.

Used for
Not currently in use.
Retention
Not applicable
04

Named cookies and stored records

The specific items we set, where we know them in advance. Analytics entries appear only after you consent to the Analytics category.

_ga
Google Analytics 4 — distinguishes unique visitors

First-party cookie. Set only with Analytics consent. Retention up to 14 months.

_ga_*
Google Analytics 4 — session and campaign state per property

First-party cookie. Set only with Analytics consent. Retention up to 14 months.

Vercel Analytics
Aggregated page and performance measurement on our host

Loaded only with Analytics consent. No advertising identifiers.

cognimit.consent
Your consent record — categories, version, and timestamp

Stored in browser localStorage, not sent to a server. Strictly necessary.

Your consent record is stored under the key cognimit.consent in browser localStorage. It holds the categories you allowed, the policy version, and a timestamp. It stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

07

Consent is versioned

Every consent record carries the policy version it was given under. The current consent version is 2. If we change what we set, why we set it, or who processes it, we raise the version. Records written under an earlier version are treated as absent, the banner appears again, and your choices are collected fresh under the new terms.

Clearing your browser storage has the same effect: with no valid record, nothing optional loads and you are asked again.

08

Third parties and sub-processors

These are the third parties involved in running this website and measuring its use. Data may be processed outside India, under Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy decision.

Google (Analytics 4)
Aggregated website analytics

Processed on Google servers, primarily in the United States. Consent Mode v2 signals apply.

Vercel
Website hosting and Vercel Analytics

Servers in the United States and other global locations.

Turso
Database hosting for site content

Globally distributed edge locations.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share analytics data with advertising networks. The wider list of processors, transfer safeguards, and retention periods is set out in our Privacy Policy.
